Atomic Number of Elements

Here’s a list of atomic number of elements, ordered alphabetically. The names and element symbols are provided. Each element has a one or two letter symbol, which is an abbreviated form of its present or old name. The element number is its atomic number, which is the number of protons in each of its atoms.

Atoms are made up of three kinds of smaller particles, called protons, neutrons and electrons. The atomic number is the number of protons in the atom, see Number of Protons and Neutrons.
